Unfortunately, there are a number of types of accidents that can result in traumatic head injuries. Car accidents, playground accidents and workplace accidents can all result in traumatic brain injury, paralysis and permanent disability.
Brain injury statistics
According to the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services’ New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research, as many as 175,000 New Jersey residents may be living with disabilities as a result of traumatic brain injuries. Among the most common causes are car accidents and assaults.
Outcomes are not always good
Thousands of New Jersey residents are living with disabilities caused by traumatic brain injuries. This means they are unable to work and are incurring substantial medical bills. This also means that many of these victims are depending upon insurance companies for everyday living expenses.
Why an attorney matters
Because of the statutes of limitations on personal injury law in New Jersey, victims of serious injury cases cannot allow too much time to pass before being in contact with an attorney. While many think the insurance company will approve their full disability claim, this may not happen. Insurance companies are looking out for their bottom lines and in spite of the fact that you have held up your end of the deal by paying premiums, they want to pay as little as possible.
I focus on helping victims of traumatic brain injury. I'll work with your insurance company because I understand that regardless of how well you are coping with your disability, you need financial help for day-to-day expenses, proper medical care and possibly rehabilitation therapy. For these reasons, I encourage you to contact my office, Francis M. Smith, Esq. and let me help. My commitment is to making things as easy for you as possible including working with your insurance company to make sure you get the compensation you deserve.
